Rubicon Trail, Friends of the Rubicon
FOTR WORKDAY and JOB SIGNUPS
Thank you for helping us maintain the famous Rubicon Trail. Friends of the Rubicon (FOTR) welcomes your help. We usually have at least three major work weekends a year, with other jobs mixed in as needed. Signups will be here for all our efforts, including the Kiosk Staffing which is very important, so check back often.

Most of our workdays involve some degree of hand-tool labor; building/maintaining waterbars; developing erosion prevention mitigations; and general trail work. Gloves and safety gear are recommended at all times. The best way to keep up with FOTR planning is to be on the FOTR email list and check popular forums and threads about the Rubicon. Both El Dorado County and Placer County require volunteers like us to fill out paperwork for record-keeping (time cards) and liability. Many people wonder, why do we have to fill out a timecard? Simple! Grant money! The county can and does apply for grant money based on hours volunteered. The more hours we volunteer, the more money the county can receive to put back into the trail! It makes a difference!!
Be sure to ask your project leader about getting a timecard completed!
